Résumé : |
The University of West London (UWL) became the first university to be reaccredited with the newUNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) (2018)standards in January 2017 (Box 1). This prestigious award within the midwifery courses not only benefits the university, but ultimately enables students to provide confident, evidenced-based care to mothers and babies in practice. This is of great importance, as demonstrated in theScottish government maternal and infant nutrition survey 2017(Scottish Government 2018) which identified that 75% of mothers stopped breastfeeding before they intended to. |
