Résumé : | As a student midwife, reflection is encouraged as part of the learning process and assists in comprehending certain situations and events. These experiences not only impact upon the care we give but also potentially on the long-term outcomes. Through reflection we can begin to rationalise what has taken place, consider the outcome, and start to plan how this could be improved if the situation arose again. This situation occurred during a placement in an alongside midwifery-led unit as a second-year student midwife. This was a valuable opportunity to apply accumulated knowledge of low-risk midwifery care to consolidate my learning. |
