Women requesting care that is perceived to be different, unusual, outside recommendations can, and does, make clinicians feel uncomfortable.
Women who make different choices may do so because of previous experiences, beliefs or fears. This article presents the experiences of a Welsh health board providing a specific clinic for these women to have detailed and supported conversations to ensure true informed consent, while providing an opportunity for health professionals to understand why women may be making their choices. |
