It is important that midwifery education encompasses contemporary, evidence-based teaching practices supported by pedagogy, to deepen knowledge and competency for future registered practitioners.
The current COVID-19 pandemic has forced higher education institutes (HEIs) to reconsider delivering teaching to students virtually in a way that is innovative and remains engaging. The application of game-playing elements in education aims to increase student engagement and has the benefit of providing immediate feedback, althought it is not traditionally used in midwifery education. Could gamification be used to enhance experience and deepen knowledge in midwifery students? |
