This is the second and final part of the paper by Elizabeth Smythe. It is a refreshing philosophical approach to childbirth informed by Gadamer's and Heidegger's philosophy. It is also about the need for a holistic approach to life and meaning. Jane is a woman living in New Zealand who decides to give birth in a local birthing center run by midwives.
