Résumé : | The role of the midwife is extensive, with new innovations frequently introduced. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC 2018) states that midwives must be competent and knowledgeable at the point of registration and throughout their career with continued professional development. As such a training programme for registered midwives was designed and implemented to develop the knowledge and skills for inserting Cook® cervical ripening balloon. The balloon is used for induction of labour (IOL) for low-risk women as outpatients. A process of change management was explored in order to implement these changes in developing midwives' skills. |
