Résumé : | Pregnancy is supposed to be a time of emotional well-being in a woman's life, but for many women it is a time of confusion, fear, sadness, anxiety, stress, and even depression and anxiety. Women's mental health is often neglected, despite the link between poor mental health in pregnancy and poor obstetric and neonatal outcomes, as well as poor health later in life. Midwives, as the woman's main carer and advocate, have a crucial role in the assessment and management of women with depression and anxiety in pregnancy. This article focuses on the critical analysis of the issues and key factors in the management of care of a woman with depression and anxiety in pregnancy. |
