This reflection explores the practice of co-sleeping as it is portrayed in contemporary academic literature, focusing upon its complex relationship with sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and responsive breastfeeding.
It also examines the role of the midwife in facilitating informed choice by providing a balanced account of the evidence. The model used in the reflection in Gibbs' reflective cycle (1988) and confidentiality has been ensured with the use of pseudonyms, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code (2018). |
