| Résumé : | An estimated 1.3 million women and girls living with HIV become pregnant each year (World Health Organization (WHO) 2022). Prior to interventions, in 1993, the vertical transmission rate was 25.6 per cent in the United Kingdom (UK), with approximately 20,000 women known, and 13,000 undiagnosed, in 2017 (Astill et al 2019). It therefore seems justifiable to offer screening to all; screening offered to everyone at the booking appointment would establish positive women as early as possible so that appropriate treatment could be started. |
